EIT Manufacturing Doctoral School: Turn your thesis into a startup

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Doctoral School assists PhD students in developing their research results or patents into marketable solutions.

The program involves PhD students from our partner universities and may include collaboration with industry partners from the EIT Manufacturing community who help create an industrial doctorate position. These partners come from various sectors, such as the automotive industry, aerospace, processing industries, machinery and equipment, electronics, information technology, or medical technology.

The EIT Manufacturing Doctoral School is an additional program alongside the partner university's doctoral studies. It is an international two-year education program focused on manufacturing innovation and entrepreneurship. The program includes a 5-month period during which students have the opportunity to move between academic and non-academic environments.

The application deadline is January 31, 2024, and applicants must be doctoral students from the program's partner university.

The program offers two tracks, one for PhD students who are not currently planning immediate entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial projects and another for PhD students with a specific interest in developing their own entrepreneurial business idea. The Doctoral School takes place online and includes on-site seminars.

The program is FREE for PhD students of University of Tartu. For more information, visit the EIT Manufacturing website.
