University of Tartu website gets a new look
The university’s new website is launched on 11 January. The web pages of most academic units will also get a new look.
According to Director of Administration Kstina Vallimäe, the university’s current web page is outdated and fails to meet users’ expectations. “It is important for the University of Tartu to respond to the needs of the changing world, and this is why we aim to develop an inspiring and pioneering organisational culture. The university’s website is one of the most important tools for creating our image, and its new fresh visual design will better highlight our learning opportunities, research achievements, developments, values and contribution to society,” said Vallimäe.
The new website is easy to browse on a screen of any size, and it is more intuitive to use. The website uses modern technology, its content is better designed and it meets present-day security requirements.
On 11 January, the university’s main page (ut.ee domain), the web pages of faculties and 30 academic units are launched. Other units of the university will migrate their pages to the new platform as soon as the content is ready.
Development of the new website continues. In the next stages, the university plans to improve the existing functions (for example, the display of staff contacts) and develop new ones (for example, the job advertisement module). Also, it is necessary to identify the specific functions needed by the library, the museums and the university magazine on their webpages.
During switchover to the new website, errors may occur. We ask for your patience and apologise for any possible inconveniences.
