Submit your project idea for the autumn semester of 2020
You have an idea or a question that needs a solution? But you lack the time and resources to implement it by yourself? Or you feel that you need a team that is willing to contribute?
Submit your idea for the project-based internship of the autumn semester of 2020 by 20 August at the latest. You can do it on praktika.ut.ee/projektipraktika by clicking on “Submit project”. Download the project form, fill it in and submit it as a PDF on the same page. Only a limited number of projects will be accepted! The volume of the project should allow a group of 3–10 students to complete it in one semester.
The idea can be related to, for instance, organising an event, promoting something or disseminating information, solving a social problem, linking a curriculum to the labour market, an experiment, a development project, an analysis, etc.
Submitting an idea and supervising a project gives a chance to cooperate with companies and institutions and thus enforce the link between the curriculum and the labour market. The project-based internship allows adding practical experience to academic studies and get new practical examples directly from the labour market. It is possible to submit a project idea together with a colleague and cooperate more widely within the university. Supervision means advising, supporting and directing a project team.
A project team comprises students of different specialisations and is supervised and supported by a teaching staff member of the university. If the project idea comes from outside the university, also someone from outside the university supervises the team. A student gets 6 ECTS for the project-based internship.
Employees of the School of Economics and Business Administration (Merily Heinalo and Anneli Lorenz) are responsible for the planning and implementation of the compulsory activities of the internship (introductory seminar, interim seminar(s), final seminar, giving feedback on the student’s self-analysis, student registration in SIS). The substantial direction of the project and advising and supporting students during the project is the responsibility of the supervisors (both from the university and outside the university). A supervisor who is an academic employee gets 4 ECTS of workload for supervising one project team (3–10 students).
