GETTING HERE: Common gateway to Tartu is Tallinn Airport (TLL) that is approximately 2-2.5 hours away from Tartu. It is usually the most convenient way to get here. You can also try Riga International Airport in Latvia. It will take approximately 5 hours to Tartu, but you should consider renting a car as buses run only twice a day to Tartu. For travel from the Tallinn Airport to Tartu please use following options available: - If you plan to continue your journey with bus we suggest you to take a taxi to Tallinn Central Bus Station as this is much the simplest way and is reasonably priced. The taxi fare is approximately 75 EEK/ €5.00 from airport to the station. In order to avoid misunderstanding, clarify the approximate fare to the destination in advance and ask for receipt. The buses run approximately every half hour during the day, costing 150 EEK/10€ and driving 2.5 hours. For more information about timetables and routes click here. On arrival to Tartu bus station we suggest that you take a taxi to get to the hotel or TUIT as this is much the simplest way and is reasonably priced. - Another option is rent a car. There is Avis office at the airport. - As an alternative and especially in case of a small group of
people (3-4) arriving together at the Tallinn Airport, you may consider
taking a taxi from the Tallinn airport to Tartu. Plenty of taxis are
available in front of the airport. It is recommended, however, to agree
on the cost of the taxi drive with the driver at the airport. The cost
of Tallinn-Tartu taxi drive (2-2.5 hrs) is around 1400-1600 EEK
(89-102€). Receipts are available in all taxis on the request. |
